Creation of Alaya
The organization was born 20 years ago, in August 2002, with the purpose of identifying customer needs and offering them solutions using intelligence and technology that would allow them to use their resources efficiently, incorporating digital solutions.
Turn to artificial intelligence and data analytics
Until 2015, Alaya defined itself as a technology consultancy. “That year, we had the vision and the decision to be able to see artificial intelligence and data analytics, which gives a look not only technological and technical, which was what we had, but a look at technology at the service of the business,” he explains. Luis Sepúlveda, founder of the company.
Expansion of industries
During the first 15 years of its history, Alaya focused on clients from the financial, insurance, retail and government industries. In 2017 they complemented the items with the aquaculture, mining and manufacturing sectors.
“Today, in 2022, we are looking to the future to get closer geographically to the productive areas or industries that we address,” says Luis Sepúlveda. For this, they are generating instances to be present in the sectors where their clients are located, such as Puerto Montt -salmon farming-, Antofagasta and Copiapó -mining-.
Throughout its history, Alaya has generated alliances with different entities. Among these are:
- ORBE XXI : company dedicated to defining, building and executing innovation strategies in the aquaculture sector. An agreement was signed to develop projects in the field.
- Compite: alliance with this company that provides specialized management support to medium-sized companies nationwide.
- Chiletec: Alaya is part of the Association of Chilean Technology Companies (Chiletec).
- SICEP: Alaya is associated with the Qualification System for Mining Supplier Companies (SICEP) of the Antofagasta Industrial Association.

“In Alaya there is always an open door. We work together. Everyone who has passed through the company has left a mark”, says Tamara Soto.
Alaya: Looking to the future
Of Quechua origin, the word Alaya means looking to the future. And that is exactly what the company is doing at the moment. "Going forward we want to strengthen and consolidate the human team," says its founder Luis Sepúlveda. "In addition, we want to focus on complementing our current offer of turnkey projects, also marketing SaaS (Software as a Service) services," he adds.
“Today we have a different view, because we already know that there are great opportunities in the sense of incorporating technologies already validated in other industries” (Iván Vargas, Head of Productivity Portfolio of Tailings Projects, Vice President of Codelco).
"I was very surprised by the commitment and professionalism... good people at a technical level and human commitment, we have put together a truly impressive team." "Alaya has remained in the bank because of his expertise." (Oscar Molina, Internet and Mobile Development Assistant Manager, Banco de Chile).
“Together with Alaya, we developed a multivariable Clustering algorithm, through a new customer segmentation model, which allowed us to optimize the actions, processes and resources for collection actions, as well as the commercial strategies of the business for customer service. of highway users. Alaya was very committed to the project, they approached it with great professionalism and technical level” ( Juan Pablo Chávez, Commercial Manager).
“With this improvement we will be able to increase our productivity by 10%, which is equivalent to adding 175 trays per day to the grading process. In addition, this will allow other areas to decongest (...), better optimizing the time of their collaborators” (Paula Clavería, head of Frozen Food at the Lo Miranda Agrosuper Plant).
“Knowing the industry and as an Alaya partner, I realize that analytics is the axis of application of digital technologies. In other words, without analytics, the truth is that you would have data and, data, and data, but you would not know what you can obtain with this data and the impact that you would achieve in the business, by incorporating that knowledge into decision making” (Adolfo Alvial, Director of ORBE XXI).
